Things to Consider
- For use in new masonry walls
- For use during wall construction
- Anchor installs in jambs and is placed between courses of block wall
- Ships loose (No option to install)
- Intended for jamb depths up to 8 ¾”
- 1 anchor needed for each 30” of jamb (not used in head or sill)
- 3/16” diameter and 9-10 inches long
- Approved for use in fire rated walls up to 3 hours (180 minutes)
- Most popular anchor for new masonry walls due to cost and versatility
Red Flags
- Jamb depths over 8 ¾” result in less than 8” of projection into block wall
- Loose anchors are commonly misused (using too many) or lost on job site
- Because this anchor is adjustable, it is possible to install incorrectly
