Base hole

The base hole is a simple method using a fastener driven into the base of a wall through a countersunk hole punched into the face of the frame.

  • The base hole is located 5/8″ from the return and bottom edges of the frame
  • The punched hole is dimpled for a #8 flat head tapered screw
  • Approved for non-fire rated applications only
  • While simple, this method limits adjustment for making the frame square and true.  As alternatives consider the welded wood stud anchor, or loose base clips at the base of the frame.
