Open Soffit
An open soffit frame has an exposed (open) profile at the head — no steel pan on the underside. This is the appropriate choice when the frame head will be above a drop ceiling or otherwise concealed from view, and it reduces material cost where a finished head is not required.
- Open profile at head (no bottom pan)
- Appropriate for concealed ceiling conditions
- Reduces cost where finished head not required
- Compatible with above-ceiling hardware
- Available on welded and KD frames
- Standard for many suspended ceiling conditions
