Frame Construction Options

Profile, depth, and backbend options that determine how your frame integrates with the wall construction, finished surfaces, and architectural details around it.

Frame construction options define the physical relationship between the frame and the wall. Getting these right ensures the frame fits correctly, looks right with the finished wall, and meets the fire rating and structural requirements of your opening.

Standard Profile

The most common frame face profile — 2" face with a 5/8" stop. Used in the majority of commercial applications.

Wide-Face Profile

Extended face width for added visual presence — used in higher-design and institutional applications.

Frame Depth Options

Available in depths from 4-7/8" to 14" to match wall thickness. Custom depths available.

Backbend Options

Backbend depth determines the frame reveal and engagement with the finished wall surface.

Closed Soffit

Continuous steel soffit fills the void between frame and wall — provides a clean, finished appearance.

Open Soffit

No soffit plate — used when the wall construction fills the void or when the frame is installed in a finished wall.
