Spreader Bar
Spreader bars are temporary steel braces installed across the bottom of a welded hollow metal frame to maintain the correct opening width during shipping, handling, and installation. The spreader bar holds the jambs at the specified width until the wall is built around the frame and the anchors are secured, at which point it is removed.
