 Memorial Day

Thanks to everyone that participated in our 2010 NCAA Bracket Challenge. We had two pools of entrants that each competed for a grand prize of a $100 gift certificate.  The HMF South pool consisted of 15 entrants, and was won by Brian M. of Raleigh, NC. The other pool, HMF North, consisted of 21 entrants and was won by Barry S. of Elmhurst, IL. Thanks for playing!

NEW PHONE CAPABILITIES

We have implemented a new phone system! Our updated system is internet based, and will provide numerous benefits to our valued customers.

Our non-valued customers will receive no benefits at all. Kidding! Just seeing if you're paying attention!

Phone

 Positive impact to you:

  • Extended service hours. Phones will ring at all extensions before and after normal business hours so calls will roll into the auto-attendant only if no one is available to pick up.
  • Up to date and easier to use voicemail systems.
  • Voicemails automatically forwarded to e-mail accounts; those with Blackberry devices will be able to service your needs even if out of the office.
  • Caller ID helps us identify you faster and record your call back numbers more easily. Also, we can avoid your call if you're not nice. Again, kidding!
  • We continue to have a live operator to assure you get what you need every time you call in. We felt it was bad policy to employ dead operators - it's just not good for office morale.
  • New Direct Dial numbers for each sales person if you choose. Just ask the next time you call and we'll give you the numbers!

Most importantly, you will continue to receive the top level service you've come to expect from HMF Express!

POWDER COAT

By: Mark Poston, VP, GM

PC Frames

Our powder coating application for frames has been tested and conforms to ANSI Standard A250.3-2006.  Galvanealed samples were subjected for 500 hours and cold rolled samples were subjected 316 hours per ASTM B-117 salt fog test.  Both samples showed no signs of creepage from scribe or blistering.  This far exceeds the ANSI standard of 120 hours and should give our customers confidence that our product is protected with one of the best primers coats in the commercial door and frame industry.

Our powder coat system was designed to support our quick-ship business model.  We can hang a welded frame elevation as large as  8/0 x 10/0 on the line, apply a phosphate wash and rinse, then oven dry the part before a coat of grey powder coat primer is applied by sensor controlled guns.  The part travels through a 380 - 400 degree oven where the powder cures and travels to an off load area where it is removed from the line and loaded on a pallet and then staged in our shipping area.  The whole process takes around 45 minutes and the part is actually ready to ship as soon as it is removed from the line.
