"DHI School in Lansdowne, Va was a blast! It was very informative and I was lucky to meet tons of great people there. It's always nice to see folks in the industry and have a chance to get to know one another away from the office."  -  Shannon Dougall

Coming Soon!

We are in the process of putting together various installation videos. We will soon have kd drywall three-sided frames, borrowed lites, and sidelites. Our on-line video library will expand as we hope to be your resource for all things hollow metal. You will be notified when the videos are up and running for your viewing pleasure. As always, please let us know if you'd like to see anything in particular and we'll do our best to accommodate you! (Rest assured, our hollow metal skills far exceed our acting abilities.....we aren't too concerned about any of our "stars" leaving for the hills of Hollywood!)

Shipping, Receiving, and Storage Tips for Hollow Metal

by: Brett  Miles

Among the many pages of helpful information you will find on our website is the page that details the proper shipping, receiving and storage of hollow metal.   One of the most important parts of that document covers damaged freight.  If handled properly, HMF Express will handle the freight claims and any associated headaches that may come with that process.  To summarize:  If damaged frames and/or doors are delivered (to your place of business or the jobsite), the shipment should be refused.  At that point, it is in our court.  However, if the shipment is received and the receipt is signed, then the material  has been officially received and is in your possession.

Another important area of that document is the proper storage information.  If your materials are stored properly, then they will be ready for installation when they are needed.  If stored inappropriately, then when you need the material you may find it has rusted or been damaged and cannot be used.  This can  impact your or your customers completion date, which may cut into your profit margins.
