The invention of the KD drywall frame has been a great asset to the door and hardware industry and works like a charm when correctly installed. Although designed for simplicity, proper frame installation is not always easy.
Standard Drywall Corner
Many standard drywall frames have slots and tabs in the soffits that require perfect alignment for the frame components to meet as needed. As frames are handled, they often get bent and twisted. Once that happens, it slows down the field assembly
dramatically. This type of frame is more difficult and time consuming to install correctly.
HMF Express's KD Drywall Corner
We have engineered our KD drywall corners to be the easiest to install, thus eliminating frustration at the jobsite. We removed the unnecessary slots and tabs from the soffits, as our corners are made to operate with corner gussets only. Our corner gussets are also designed with a special feature to keep the header from rising up when the compression anchors are tighened. This will create the truest corner and door opening you will find.
